Smith Family 2nd Cancer Battle Fund

Deb's first battle with cancer started less than 10 years ago. She was diagnosed with Colon Cancer, after surgery and a good fight she was in remission. 

Two years ago, Deb was re-diagnosed with Cancer, which this time had spread throughout multiple areas of her body. She had surgery on her hip to remove a tumor to help her walk, which ultimately resulted in her not being able to walk at all. 

After being turned away at Mayo, Deb and Rick started to travel to Zion Illinois every other week for her treatments. Rick hasn't been able to fully commit to working these past few years to be there for her care and travel. He has drained his retirement, his family leave, and any other means of financial savings.

Deb is 51 years old and now currently in hospice at Mala Strana in New Prague, MN. She is too unhealthy to do any further treatments and the doctors have given her less than 2 weeks left with her loved ones. She is a caring, goofy, loving mother of 5 children. Her kids, her 3 grandchildren, and family have been the light of her life. We are praying to have her with us through Christmas and the Holidays... 

We are raising money to help for the cost of all of her treatments, hospice and their financial hardship throughout this time, while they both have been unable to work. While Deb may not have a lot of time left here with us, Rick will be left with the loss of his wife and the financial responsibilities.
